“When I’m 64…………." Never expected to be where I am now but after surviving the last 3 years and rebuilding my life, it’s time to become more active in promoting and fundraising for, the organizations I support.

In August 2014 I’m taking the challenge to trek the Inca Trail with and for Amnesty international.

While this will be a wonderful experience for me, the primary purpose is to raise funds for Amnesty and promote the work they do in combating injustices worldwide.

My initial target is $5,000 but I really want to raise well over $10,000.

I’ll be doing this by secure donations to this page and by holding events, which  I’ll let you know about.

UPDATE

Less than 8 weeks to go until I leave for Lima & only 4 weeks to fundraise the remainder of my target!  

I had to step back from fundraising at the beginning of the year due to a family situation that required all my attention.

Now I'm back & while I'm sure I'll reach my $5,000 target, I'll need a lot of help from you all to reach $10,000.

I'm holding an Open Garden at my Port Douglas residence, so if you or any of your friends will be in the Cairns region on 28th & 29th June (1st weekend of the school holidays) spread the word & help make this a resounding success.

The garden showcases Australian native plants & is featured in 2 books on garden design, so it really is worth seeing. There will be articles in the local papers & flyers in local businesses.
